Team Silver Backs will
host the red-hot
Insiders as they
continue their run at a
perfect Patriot League
campaign tonight.
Team Insiders are
enjoying a terrific
season at 4-1 and on
February 4th they
continued their winning
ways with a 70-41
besting of the Ballers.
With the victory team
Insiders have won two
straight and four of
their last five games.
Team
Insiders shot an
unconscious 67.5 percent
from the floor and
connected on 10-of-13
from three point range
while shooting 8-of-10
at the foul line, as
they downed team Ballers
by twenty-nine points.
Leading the way was
David Tran, who
tallied a season-high 21
points, 2 steals and 6
rebounds while
Duy Duong
tacked on 13 points, 3
rebounds and 3 threes
from beyond the arc.
Amad Mehboob
chipped in 11 points and
3 assist while
Mike Prado
added 10 and 4 rebounds.
On the season,
David Tran
tops the roster in both
scoring (14.4 ppg) and
rebounding (6.8 rpg) and
he also has a credit of
8 three on the season to
his name.
Brian Le
adds 11.4 ppg and a team
leading 3.0 threes per
game to the mix, while
Mike Prado
contributes 8.2 ppg and
4.0 rpg. As a team the
Insiders are averaging
54.2 ppg while allowing
41.6 ppg to the
opposition.
Silver Backs meanwhile,
suffered a narrow 45-43
defeat last week to Beat
Skeet & Retreat. It was
the fifth straight loss
for the Silver Backs,
who are now 0-5 in
league play.
It
was a tough ending for
the Silver Backs, who
played flawless in the
third quarter as they
outscored Beat Skeet
12-8 to take a three
point lead into the
fourth quarter. A late
17-12 run by Beat Skeet
& Retreat sent the
Silver Backs to a narrow
2 point loss on their
home floor this past
Thursday. Ali
Mohammadi put up
solid numbers as he
paced the team in defeat
with 16 points and 8
rebounds. Richard
Chen finished with 8
points and 3 rebounds
while Ryan Hong
added 6 points, 2 threes
and 2 rebounds. On the
season, Mohammadi
is the squad's leading
scorer with 11.0 ppg
including a team best
8.6 rpg while Richard
Chen follows with
8.6 ppg and 2.3 rpg. As
a team the Silver Backs
are averaging 38.4 ppg
while allow 54.0 ppg to
the opposition.
