Two clubs moving in
opposite directions meet
at the Sports Center
today, as the soaring
Lights Out tangle with
the slumping Mixed Nuts
in a South-East Division
clash.
As
for Lights Out, it
continues to play well
and picked up a narrow
71-69 victory over Rum
Jungle in their last
outing. The win was the
second victory in the
past three games,
improving the team to
2-1 overall.
Lights Out made good on
54.4 percent of its
field-goal chances
including 8-of-10 from
downtown in their game
against Rum Jungle.
Lights Out was also
effective at the foul
line, where they went
11-of-13 for the game.
Lights Out also dished
an impressive 17 assist
compared to only 10
assist by Rum Jungle.
Four players finished
with double figures for
Lights Out as Eric
Nguyen paced the
team with a
double-double, 19
points, 10 assist and 9
rebounds. Jamelle
Holieway put up
solid numbers as well as
he finished with17
points, 5 assist and 9
rebounds. Rin Mai added
12 points and 4 threes
while Will Appell added
11 points and 8 rebounds
to his stat log.
On the season, Eric
Nguyen is averaging
a solid 18.0 ppg to lead
the team including a
team best 5.7 apg while
pulling down 7.3 rpg.
Jamelle Holieway is
also having a solid
season as he tacks
on 16.0 ppg, 2.3 apg and
a team-best, 9.3 rpg.
Will Appell, despite
only 8.3 ppg has been a
force on the glass
pulling down 7.0 rpg
while RJ Parpana adds
8.3 ppg and 2.3 rpg. As
a team, Lights Out is
averaging a healthy 65.0
ppg while allowing
a division high, 65.3
ppg to the opposition.
As for the Mixed Nuts,
they come into this
contest with an 0-3
record having lost three
games straight by an
average of 15.6 ppg.
Were it not for
Mitch David &
Vernon Crayton
reaching double digits,
Mixed Nuts would have
been completely blown
away by Team ATM last
week. As it stood, Mixed
Nuts still fell by
double digits in front
of their hometown crowd,
59-47. Mitch
David,
who knocked down 6-of-9
shots from the field
finished with 14 points,
3 steals and 5 rebounds.
It was the second time
in three games that
David reached
double-digits of a
10-plus point effort.
Vernon Crayton also
reached double-digit as
he tallied up 11 points
along with 7 rebounds
while Ian Cuisia,
the team's leading
scorer was held to only
9 points.
Despite shooting 43
percent from the field
in the second half,
Mixed Nuts was
out-scored 37-26. As a
team, Mixed Nut shot
4-of-8 at the charity
strip while connecting
on 5-of-8 from three
point range.
For
the season, Ian
Cuisia has been the
team's resolve averaging
double figures with 18.0
ppg including a team
best dishing out 2.7 apg
along with 3.7 threes
per game and 2.3 spg.
Mike Campuued is
also adding solid
numbers to the mix with
9.7 ppg and 3.3 apg
while Vernon Crayton checks
in as the team's leading
re-bounder with 7.3 rpg
along with 8.0 ppg.
As a team, Mixed Nuts is
averaging 51.7 ppg while
allowing 67.3 ppg.
